Ralegh's Web is an adventure set in North Carolina during the French and Indian War. A dispatch rider named Duncan Macpeters discovers the wagons of a supply convoy attacked by mysterious men who are neither French nor Indian, but are organized and disciplined soldiers. The raiders have taken their friend hostage. A handful of determined men follow the attackers deep into the mountains. There they find a secret colony of Europeans with a history older than Jamestown. Known as the Conglische, the colonists have become legends in the forest, feared for their ruthless killings. The heroes will battle enemies of mythical proportions and discover the true meaning of betrayal. On their journey, they learn the meaning of friendship, find love, and discover the origins of the lost colony. When I came to this new land, I vowed no king would ever rule me again. Some called me a savage. Highland living and serving in the king's army led me to do some savage things. Part of that stayed with me. I was born of a land conquered, not civilized. The English harnessed my people's rage and used it to forge an empire. After seeing many good men die, I lost faith in monarchs and the petty wars of the Old World. Leaving the British Army, I came to the forests of the Blue Ridge. I came to this new land to start over, for a new beginning, for the freedom to live as I choose. Randall L. Broad is a Christian and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, a martial artist, and a devoted backpacker who has hiked many of the trails in the mountains he writes about. He lives in Tennessee. Publisher's website: http: //sbpra.com/RandallLBroad
