Praying to God in times of need is not enough. He desires us to have an intimate relationship with Him. We are near and dear to His heart, and He longs to have our attention. His Word, the Bible, is filled with treasures. He has treasures galore for His children. He simply wants us to tap into them. God does not want us to think of Him as a hard task master. He is the Giver of all life; the Creator of a splendid universe; the Person Who birthed love, feelings and romance; the One Who instituted the family. Contrary to popular belief, He has nothing to do with religion as the world knows it. Christ's earthly body is, in actuality, an organism with Jesus being the head and God's children making up the rest of His body. The Holy Spirit, the third Person in the Trinity, is not given enough credence or honor, yet He was just as essential in planning the creation of the world as were the Father and the Son. Christ gave the Spirit to us as a gift when He left this earth for heaven. He is omniscient and omnipresent. He sees us no matter where we are. He knows our thoughts. He is a Helper, a Teacher, a Confidant, a Friend, a soul-mate, a Lover and so much more. He gives us divine favor (grace) and extends boundless mercy when we deserve just the opposite. He is wisdom and patience personified. He is Good and perfect. He delights our souls. He enlarges our coasts. He supplies us with supernatural peace and joy and with energy that is indescribable even in old age. He is royalty, King of Kings and Lord of lords. He is amazingly profound, yet simple. He identifies with we humans having lived where we live. As powerful as He is He remains very near to us when we are hurting. His supply of compassion is inexhaustible. Love is behind everything He does and everything He allows. He is love. His voice is precious. Sometimes it is loud and clear, and other times it is soft and sweet. Gentleness is one of His many virtues. Jesus died for the sins of the world sparing people from having to go to hell to pay for their sins because the wages of sin is death. It was the ultimate sacrifice. It is difficult to imagine anyone rejecting the great gift God gave to the world. Christians are blessed people. Their strength is in the Lord. Their hope is in the Lord. God bestows to them newness over and over. He supplies all their needs. The Bible contains 66 love letters to His people. It contains answers for every problem we face in life. Obedience is the key to a victorious Christian life. Fellowship with believers is essential for inner healing and for growing to be more like Christ. The more time we spend with Him the more of Him we will give out to others. We are on a journey. God bestowed upon us the privilege of prayer to carry us along the way. Prayer is His design. He loves to hear our voices. How would we feel if we raised sons and daughters and they never spoke to us? Each of us is very important in God's plan. He makes sure He lets us know through edifying us and building us up. In Isaiah 66 He speaks about bouncing us like a toddler on His knee. In Songs of Solomon He is our Lover. He fills a multitude of roles. We need to be reminded to put up our imaginary antennas to hear what the Lord is saying to us. We need to be cognizant of an enemy in the atmosphere, and to make use of the armor of truth and righteousness that God continually makes available to us. We need to take time to meditate on His beauty, and to thank Him for His love, His blessings, His provisions and so much more. May everyone open their hearts to the Saviour Who is waiting with open arms to draw the masses to Himself, to transform lives, and to illuminate His words through His Spirit on a daily basis.
