NOAH ANDRE TRUDEAU is a Civil War historian who has written articles for Civil War Times Illustrated , Gettysburg Magazine , and Military History Quarterly . He has written six books on the subject, including the bestseller, Gettysburg , Bloody Roads South , The Last Citadel , and Like Men of War , which won the Grady McWhiney Research Foundation's Jerry Coffey Memorial Book Prize. Formerly an executive producer at NPR.
