AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) tend to prolong the independency and the autonomy for the elderly. Information systems of AAL applications lack standardization. Therefore, we present in this book our work that focuses on three points. First, developing a better understanding of the AAL field in the context of the systems' models and architectures. Secondly, designing an efficient RM (Reference Model) for AAL systems that assimilate the core of every AAL oriented system. Finally, designing and validating a RA (Reference Architecture) for AAL systems based on our RM. We have run a study over the architectural requirements and synthesis that leaded to achieving a context-aware and a goal-oriented RA. This book represents a reference for AAL software engineering architects, developers and practitioners.
