Conventional fuels are essentially derived from petroleum. This undergoes extensive refining operations to obtain several types of products (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heavy fuels) intended to power very different vehicles, from passenger cars to aircraft and ships. Quality control laboratories can be audited and certified according to an international standard of management systems called ISO9001, the laboratory seeks to undergo reassessments that verify that they remain compliant with the requirements and ensure that they meet their operating standards to have accreditation. Samples received by the laboratory undergo a series of analyses to verify that the quality of the fuel in question has not been altered and remains within specification and/or the analysis is performed to certify that the product that has been in storage for a certain period of time remains within specification and that the quality of the product has not changed since the last analysis.
