Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh which covers 1528 sq. km area of the country. It represents huge population is about 13 million with high growth rate at 4.2% yearly. This large population is creating additional pressure on services including public transport system (Planning Commission, 2011). Dhaka is one of the organically developed cities in the world and urban planning did not receive any good response from public policy level. In Dhaka, both motorized and non-motorised transports ply on the same road, no well organised mass rapid transport system, very weak traffic management system, no parking policy, lack of co-ordination and co-operation among the different government and non government departments for ensuring an efficient public transport system.
