This study sought to analyse the profile of public relations professionals working in small and medium-sized enterprises in Santa Cruz do Sul. It sought to conceptualise small and medium-sized enterprises together with the study of public relations functions and activities on behalf of these companies. In view of this, it was possible to ascertain the profile of professionals working in this market in Santa Cruz do Sul through quantitative research. As the survey pointed out, only two professionals are working in small and medium-sized companies in the city, but based on the survey, it was possible to discover that there are professionals from other areas who proclaim themselves to be public relations professionals and carry out activities in this area within companies. In general, what we see is that the public relations profession is not yet recognised by the city's businesspeople, who allow other professionals to perform tasks that only public relations professionals are qualified to perform.
