This volume of papers from the 14th International Conference on Methods in Dialectology, held at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), 2 to 6 August 2011, brings together recent methodological innovations and current research on the study of dialects and language variation. Alexandra D'Arcy is Associate Professor of Linguistics and Director of the Sociolinguistics Research Lab at the University of Victoria (Canada).
David Heap is Associate Professor of French and Linguistics at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), where he teaches dialectology and morphology.
