Luminescent tagging of cellulose can be used in many products, e.g., passports, tamper evident labels, postage stamps, identity cards, banknotes, military clothes, etc. The luminous security ink is used for the purpose of prevention forgery or reproduction of recording secret information. The security ink is invisible under visible light, but when being irritated with ultraviolet rays, it emits light and the recorded information can be read. There are few published studies on security ink composites which are based on different organic dyes, e.g poly(methyl methacrylate) composite dyes. The first aim of this study is to prepare nanostructured doped fluorescent compounds to use it as fluorescent material. Thus we focus first on studying photoluminescence of the synthesized samples. The second aim is exploring the possibility of some of the synthesized materials to use in printing pastes and applied to different types of cellulosic based products (papers and textiles) by using screen printing technique as a printed security feature.
