De Waal, Maaike S. Dr. Maaike S. De Waal (PhD) is assistant professor at the Faculty of Archaeology of Leiden University (the Netherlands). She is a partner in ARGEOgraph, an archaeological company specializing in geoinformatics in archaeology. Previously, she was lecturing in archaeology at the University of the West Indies (Barbados). She specializes in pre-colonial Caribbean archaeology, and her research interests include Caribbean archaeology, landscape archaeology, archaeological survey, settlement patterns, mobility and interaction and pre-colonial ceramics.
Finneran, Niall Dr. Niall Finneran holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is Reader in Historical Archaeology and Heritage at the University of Winchester, England. An anthropological archaeologist with specialisations in heritage management, material culture and nautical and landscape archaeology, he has worked at Speightstown in Barbados since 2010 and also undertakes community heritage work among the Garifuna on St Vincent, as well as nautical archaeological work on the Grenadine island of Bequia.
Reilly, Matthew C. Dr. Matthew C. Reilly is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the City College of New York. He conducts research in Barbados and Liberia. He is the author of Archaeology below the Cliff: Race, Class, and Redlegs in Barbadian Sugar Society.
