Ministry of intercession means to go or pass between, Abraham did so for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis18:22-33). Moses stood between his country and God (Exodus 32:7-14; Numbers14:11-21). One of the greatest contribution you can make for your country is intercession, no one can do too much of it. It is true that most leaders are bad and corrupt but there is no provision in the scriptures where we are told not to pray for them or our country. Instead of talking to each other alone, criticize, oppose, destroy and divide amongst ourselves, let us pray. If we pray for our country and leaders, God will take hold of them to do the right thing (1Timothy2:1-4; Ezeikel30:31; Mattew6:9-13. The wars, economic problems and corruption in our country is because of lack of intercessors. Samuel prayed for his country (1samuel7:8-10; 12:18-23). Jesus prayed and died for the world (isaiah53:12; Hebrew7:25; Romans8:34). We must pray to avert tragedy, and beat back the tide of iniquity (Isaiah59:16). Start praying now.
