Serge Dibart is the Department Chair and Program director of the periodontal residency program at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He is the editor of Practical Advanced Periodontal Surgery and co–editor of Practical Periodontal Diagnosis and Treatment Planning and Practical Osseous Surgery in Periodontics and Implant Surgery.

Also included in this edition are new developments on esthetic and morphometric evaluation of the periodontium, enamel matrix derivative, minimally invasive surgery, smile design, lip repositioning, and facial esthetic surgery.

Practical Periodontal Plastic Surgery begins by outlining the development of periodontal plastic surgery and the factors, chiefly periodontal health, that affect surgical outcomes.
