Goodfellow's cross-national focus on the rapidly growing cities of Kigali, Kampala, and Addis Ababa offers a rich and timely response to the call for greater comparison by scholars in Urban Studies. His exploration of the different drivers of state infrastructural power, urban real estate markets, street vending, or patterns of political dissent in Africa's cities will inform and inspire important conversations among social scientists in development studies,
political science, and urban studies.
Tom Goodfellow is a Professor of Urban Studies and International Development at the University of Sheffield.
