Pneumonia continues to have brought untold devastate to children younger than five years world wide with pneumonia caused mortality and morbidity repercussions predominantly remain in developing nations like Ethiopia.With more than one child diagnosed to have pneumonia for every seven children, it has already been invariably established that under-five pneumonia is one of the biggest contributor to the toll of childhood sufferings.The set of contributing factors of the diseases have,however,shown variations across countries, with co-morbidity like measles and diarrhea remain the all-too real predisposing problems in countries where people are struggling for beating hunger for survival only.This necessitating the researchers to investigate the setting specific magnitude and predisposing problems of pneumonia for people not yet celebrating their fifth birth day, the reason that has probably urged the author to carry out this study.The book basically touches the prevalence and underlying factors of 5 pneumonia. Decision makers, planners, politicians,or researchers of any level can find it all but helpful for supporting the strategies meant for fighting this under-five problem.

Working as a lecturer in Addis Ababa University, the author is an early academic researcher with specific interest on maternal and child health area. Having successfully completed the four years long first degree in Public Health Officer, he pursued his second degree in Reproductive and Family Health and has become Reproductive Health specialist.
