The main purpose of this book is to awaken the interest and motivation of students towards mathematics through a proposal of playful-manipulative activities that promote the discovery and understanding of mathematical sciences in the first year of Primary Education. All this is based on an active, experimental and collaborative methodology, in which the child is the protagonist of the educational process, since he/she experiments directly with different manipulative materials in the acquisition of new knowledge, while the teacher guides him/her through meaningful questions. In addition, peer interaction is an essential part of this process to achieve the proposed objectives. Likewise, this work is based on the use of manipulative materials to solve problems of daily life and, consequently, students approach and become familiar with the reality that surrounds them.
