This is the final volume of a series devoted to photorefractive effects, photorefractive materials and their applications. Since publication of the first two volumes almost 20 years ago, new and often unexpected effects have been discovered. O autorze

Jean-Pierre Huignard, PhD, earned the engineer diploma in optical science from Ecole Superieure d'Optique and a doctorate in physical science from Paris-Orsay University. He currently serves as Senior Scientist at Thales. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and received a prize from the French Academy of Sciences.

In this third volume a series of applications on photorefractive nonlinear optics and  optical data storage are presented.  This and the other two volumes on photorefractive effects, materials and applications have been prepared mainly for researchers in the field, but also for physics, engineering and materials science students. Several chapters contain sufficient introductory material for those not so familiar with the topic to obtain a thorough understanding of the photorefractive effect.
