This book focuses on addressing water contamination caused by the industrial sector, particularly the textile industry, which generates a significant amount of wastewater pollution due to the use of strong colorants known as dyes. The study designed and synthesized a composite material consisting of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) doped with ZnO and Fe2O3 using the sol-gel method. The prepared catalyst was characterized using various techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) to understand its properties. It discusses different methods for the treatment of dyes in wastewater and provide a deep insight of most advanced treatment using a CNTs-doped ZnO/Fe2O3 composite through photocatalysis. The results demonstrates that the synthesized catalyst effectively degrades the dyes and can be optimized for better performance in specific environmental conditions. The findings hold significant importance for addressing the pressing issue of water contamination caused by the textile industry's wastewater discharge.
