PEAK PERFORMANCE is specially packaged as a Seminar Material for the Exam Success Orientation Campaign. It is a response to the heart-cry of members of our societies regarding the abysmal poor performance of the various categories of students in their examinations across the various academic institutions and examining bodies. Inability of students to adequately prepare for their examinations is what has birthed the hydra-headed monster, called examination malpractice, that has become the bane of our once progressive society. Today, many of our students who would have become valuable assets to our societies have embraced the negative spirit which makes them see themselves as never-do-well. Consequently, they have been erroneously made to believe that they can never prepare for and pass their examinations on their own (i.e. without any illegal aid). It is the need to arrest this devilish spirit, that has prompted my packaging of this special Exam Success Pack, that is designed to re-orientate the student to believe that he is capable of preparing for and passing any examination, and indeed scoring A's in all his courses/subjects, without any illegal aid. The package (which comes with an audio CD) is to serve as a tool in the Exam Success Orientation Campaign that I am embarking upon to drive home the message of self-belief among students in our various academic institutions. This package and the campaign should be seen as my modest contribution to the task of rescuing our ailing society from total collapse and re-building and restoring it to the enviable society that it should be. For the various reasons aforementioned, the pocket book, which I self-published locally earlier, has been revised to include a look at the broad divisions of the language skills. And I have concentrated on the receptive skills, with the aim of helping students get the best from their lecturers/ teachers and their reading materials. I am convinced that all the techniques for efficient listening and effective reading that I have examined in this edition will enable students receive proper guidance from their lecturers/teachers, especially as they engage in the process of listening to their lectures and reading their books/study materials. Consequently, I have included sections on Key Concepts and Application. The Audio CD that accompanies this Exam Success Pack is a seminar I delivered at the Exam Success Summit organized by the Youth Forum of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Choba, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in May 2012. It is indeed an oral presentation of some portions of this book and my first self-development book, A TO Z OF SUCCESS SECRETS. It is my sincere desire that students of all categories will have access to this special package and thoroughly consume and digest the contents in order to deal with the demons called fear, inferiority complex, examination malpractice and failure. It is also my utmost desire that students will go beyond just passing their examinations to scoring straight A's in their courses/subjects after reading through this book and listening to the accompanying CD.
