Nigeria has witnessed re-occurrence of religious conflicts since the past four decades. These conflicts have led to the loss of thousands of lives, obliteration of property worth billions of Naira and dislodging of many people. As a result of these conflicts, a tradition of hostility has become the order of the day in the nation resulting in persistent anxiety, insecurity and threat to national unity. The purpose of this work was to ascertain the role NIREC has played in achieving peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria. The study revealed that NIREC has not been able to achieve religious peace in Nigeria. However, interfaith training and Scriptural reasoning were recommended as veritable tools for achieving religious peace in Nigeria. This book is relevant to Christians, Muslims, religious leaders, politicians, experts in interfaith relations, religious students and the entire society.
