Rooted in complex reality, the counsel in this book is intensive and practical. The authors and their editors push us to see beyond medical diagnoses to the person, and through the person to the social and cultural contexts that make us more than individuals. In other words, it succeeds in examining the enormous potential of palliative care, which, in practice, is still largely unrealized. Altogether, this book is a fantastic read for anyone interested in caring for humans.
