Concrete structure is made up of cement, aggregate and water. As per IS 383-1970 and in 1997 for building Construction the aggregates commonly used are granite, sand stone and limestone. Three quarters of concrete is made up from aggregate, thus the selection of aggregate should be in the prime condition. To produce a good, strength and high quality concrete the materials used should be in accordance to standard specification. In general most of civil engineering works are constructed with granite as coarse aggregate. But very limited research work has been carried out use of lime stone in the construction industry. In this junction the present investigation planned to find out the efficacy of limestone for concrete work as partial and fully replacement of granite aggregate. The scope of study includes the investigation of lime stone utility in the concrete slabs. The main objective of the research is to study the properties of lime stone related to strength and its performances under impact loading.
