Under the pressure of a growing demand for care and with a view to good governance and resource management in the health field, day hospitalization has been imposed with a view to optimizing the availability of hospital beds and reducing health care expenses.In this paper, we have addressed the managerial and academic aspects of a day hospitalization project in interventional cardiology.An inventory of the organizational difficulties of the activity in the catheterization room was drawn up using an ISHIKAWA diagram. Project sheets following the QQOQCCP plan were established reflecting the strategic and operational aspects of the project. Finally, the constraints, dependencies, and interferences were outlined using a SWOT matrix.The cardiology day hospital has emerged as an innovative project with a significant organizational and medico-economic impact. This document provides the basic elements for this major change in practice and outlines the possibilities of maintaining an academic vocation in this unit with rapid circuit rotation.
