Tripp and Heidi discover the depths of their own hearts as they deal with several terrible repercussions of the doom progressing all around them, and they can't help but fall in love in the middle of the despair. But chances of ever seeing each other again are slim, and the futility of the situation is heartbreaking for everyone involved.
