The rate at which people seek jobs in Nigerian banks and then cross over to other industries is interesting and at the same time alarming to human resource management practitioners. More so, being an industry where it is generally believed that the workers are properly taken care of. Invariably, this means that employee turnover, mechanical work, poor service delivery and other such outcomes are issues the bank managements are grappling with. Researchers have attributed such outcomes to lack of commitment. This study investigates the effect of human resource management practices on the organizational commitment of bank workers in Jos, Nigeria. At the end of this work it is expected that it will contribute to the human resource management practice literature by providing information on the different types of organizational commitment in the Nigerian banking sector and; be found by human resource managers, practitioners and researchers to be an added perspective and perhaps, a prop into studies in other industries.
