In spite of considerable progress during the last years, the performance of Organic Thin-Film Transistors lays behind that of their inorganic counterpart, the only exception being amorphous Si based devices. Consequently, the applications can be found where low fabrication costs and large area are of the biggest importance. This means possible series production of electronic bar-code and identification tags, and, especially in the last two years, active matrix elements for organic flat panel displays. Based on that, a growing number of industrial groups recently initiated research programs in the field of organic transistors. The aim of this work was to demonstrate the feasibility of integrating functional OTFTs, organic diodes, passive components and simple-logic circuits on one flexible full-wafer sized chip. In each of the cited device categories fully functional devices were demonstrated, in many cases with performance close or comparable to the state-of-the-art. This book is a result of the research work done in the Nanolab laboratory of the EPFL, Switzerland under the supervision of professor Adrian M. Ionescu and Dr. Dimitrios Tsamados.
