The book is devoted to the investigation of properties of mesoscopic heterostructures, both optical and transport. In particular, the authors consider some gyrotropy effects occurring in heterogeneous materials such as gyrotropic photonic crystals, exciton-like electromagnetic excitations in disordered photonic supercrystals composed by microcavities as coupled resonators, they carry out modeling of the critical characteristics for SNIS Josephson devices as well. This research is performed within the European program FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IRSES (Grant # 612600 "LIMACONA").
