This book is structured into five chapters to explain the detailed study of chalcogenide glass with their applications, properties, preparation techniques, and characterization. Chapter 1 deals with the introduction of Chalcogenide glass. In this chapter, we have discussed the brief history of chalcogenide glass with their applications. It also deals with the discussion about preparation and deposition techniques of the bulk and thin films of the metal (Cd, Hg, and Cu) doped chalcogenide (Se, Te) alloys. Chapter 2 deals with the investigation of the addition of cadmium (Cd) with decreasing at.wt. % of Tellurium (Te) at constant at.wt% of Selenium (Se) on the structural, morphological, optical, thermal and dielectric studies of the chalcogenide alloys Te90-xSe10Cdx (x = 0, 10, 20). These are synthesised by melt quenching technique from 99.999% pure elements. XRD pattern reveals that as-prepared and thermally annealed chalcogenide alloys show polycrystalline nature and a combination of hexagonal and cubic phase. Average crystal size observed by Scherrer's formula for as-prepared and thermally annealed samples.
