Dr. Vipul Patel is the Medical Director of the Global Robotics Institute at Florida Hospital. Dr. Patel has personally performed the most robotic surgeries in the world and has currently performed over 8,000 robotic prostatectomies. Aside from vast surgical experience, he is also committed to sharing his expertise in training robotic urology surgeons around the world. Since 2007, he and his team of premier specialists have been providing individualized, state-of-the-art patient care with superior results.
He served as the Director of the Center for Robotic and Computer-assisted Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center for three years, where he was also an Associate Clinical Professor of Urology and Associate Professor of Bioinformatics. He is the founder of the Society of Robotic Surgery, the founder and Editor-in-chief of The Journal of Robotic Surgery. Dr Patel received Honorary Professorships from Korean University, the Asian School of Urology and the College of Medicine, and Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru.
