He taught me that religion only gives a person a head knowledge of God and that nothing will change within a person with only knowing about God. The difference Jesus Christ brings into a believer's life is that an actual change comes from within... with Him spiritually ruling and reigning as Lord, Savior and King within a Christian's life. This has nothing to do with what is physically happening on the outside... but has everything to do with what Jesus Christ is spiritually doing on the inside. Religion gets us nowhere.
