Cyclist Tobias Woggon is a specialist mountain biker who has traveled the world, experiencing out-of-this-world settings while embedding himself with the local culture. Having previously been a professional mountain biker on the global stage, he wasn't able to experience local traditions while competing, instead making up for it in his latter years. By applying his knowledge over the sport and decades worth of experiences, this two wheel journey will spur your next adventure.
After exhausting years in Munich's top restaurants, Markus Sämmer pulled the ripcord shortly after the turn of the millennium and took a break. He went to Australia to go camping, where over 24,000 kilometers (40,000 mi.) he not only perfected his tent set-up skills, but also the art of creating the finest dishes using ingredients from the respective region and under camping conditions. To this day, he has remained true to this style of cooking. He published The Great Outdoors (2018) and Delicious Wintertime (2019) with gestalten.
When Philip Ruopp met Tobias in 2010 at a parking lot on the Canary Islands, there was nothing he could care less about than shooting outside of his studio. Except for one thing, maybe: mountain biking. He still works with well-known models for big brands, but at the same time, Philip has become one of the most famous photographers in the bike scene and has had all the stars in front of his lens. His qualifications for this bike trip? Hundreds of nights with Tobias in a tent somewhere in the middle of nowhere, countless bike and outdoor photos, and not one minute spent on a bike.
