The challenges for non-profits are many and I keep seeing leaders with the view that they are the only one with a certain problem. While there is a degree of truth in that as their statement refers to their particular organization, there is also a broader reality. If they took out their organization's name, they could almost duplicate the message by substituting Non-Profit Organizations Have Problems with their list of problems. I was having a meal with a wise and wonderful leader recently. I saw the familiar overwhelm that besets leaders who slide so effortlessly in to the trap of being servers of the many. This leader was trying so diligently to serve and was accomplishing extreme excellence. The price was being paid by the individual for the organization. This leader was and is absolutely amazing and moving in the wisest direction known as fast as possible.
