In New York City, the city that never sleeps, there is a journey of a teenager name Nick Solitario who is forced to live in his life based on the perceptions that many have given him. In his high school he is feared by students who find him weird, an easy target by the ones that bully him, a trouble maker by the faculty, or simply ignored by his high school crush, Lindy Xin. Nick has been love with her the throughout high school, she is a red Asian girl who is currently dating one of student that is bulling Nick. However; no matter how he is perceived by others, the one perception that hurts him the most, is the perception given by his mother Ana Solitario. Ana is a single mother with blonde hair and yellow skin, although Nick knows his mother loves him as much as he loves her, he can't understand the reasoning behind her strict discipline and her belief of him being a troubled child. As a result of his loneliness Nick relies on reading comic books, where he loses himself in a world where he is someone else. Someone happy. One rainy afternoon, Nick was mysteriously electrocuted by a bolt of lighting, allowing him to have abilities that change his life forever. Nick is able to turn invisible, hypnotize people, and look into others past and present. At first he feared his abilities, but after gaining better control of them, Nick begins to misuse them by attacking the students that bulling him at school. Afterwards Nick becomes torn between keeping his personality and this new personality that has him becoming the killer that the other students believe he is. However, in a twist of fate, Nick finds his mother murdered by a gang that he is only familiar with through his visions and seeks them out for revenge. As a result of Nick not truly mastered his abilities and fears confrontation, Nick puts together a costume that resembles a dark figure in his dreams and seeks after the gang under the name "The Phantom." A name that Nick felt fit his personality as he feels like a lost ghost wondering around New York. One by one the gang member dies by the hands of The Phantom, allowing his abilities to once again possess Nick as the killer he tried not to become. Along the process he begins to have close relationship Lindy both as Nick and The Phantom. But as his mother tried to tell him, his decisions regardless of his intentions comes with consequences that he may or may not be able to handle. In the end the leader i killed by the hands by a mysterious rider covered in fire (Demon Rider). As a result learning The Phantom's true Identity and rejecting him for it, Nick hypnotizes her into forgetting ever meeting him, and whether as Nick or as The Phantom, he continues his journey in New York alone and lost
