Nduka is the story of a young man, Nduka Onuoha, son of a peasant farmer who survived a terrible illness in his childhood when every hope of his survival was lost, and his two colleagues Anizoba and Adaora all product of University of Feelniger. When Nduka finished his secondary education and passed entrance examination to University, his poor father having no money for him to continue, sought financial assistance from his brothers for Nduka to continue his education but his brothers had a contrary view. They preferred Nduka going into business because that was the only way of getting rich quickly. Denied of help and deserted, Onuoha shouldered the burden of his sons higher education all alone with his small farm as the only source of income. After graduation, Nduka luckily got a job as Personnel Manager in his Alma mater. But he had a trait that was repugnant to the society he belonged and that was going to be his undoing. His crime? He believed in hardwork and transparent honesty and used merit as a yardstick in performing his official duties. This ideology of his brought him to in a collision course with a powerful mafia that brooked no opposition in their way of subverting university amenities and powers to favour their parochial interest. Consequently he was derided, victimized and deprived. Unlike Nduka, his two colleagues, Anizoba and Adaora had a different approach to life. They preferred fulfilling their life ambition by who-cares means. Anizoba who was employed as a Preventive Officer enriched himself by aiding and abetting smuggling which he was employed to prevent mindless of the voice of his conscience which spoke against his ignoble act. According to him, he had suppressed the voice of his conscience with the voice of his desires to cope with the demands of the present day. He justified his action with the wrong side of Machiavellian Principle - the end justifies the means. Adaora - a lady of rare beauty, an epicurean who had good stomach for booze but indifferent to her books, entered the University of Feelniger through the backdoor and had been passing her exams by using what she had to get what she needed from young lecturers who cared for her lecherous act. At the end, the even handed justice paid everyone accordingly. Their end justified their means.
