Andrea F. Bohlman is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her research concerns sound, affect, and social movements in East Central Europe, as well as the history of sound recording-particularly tape. In 2017, she co-edited a special issue of Twentieth-Century Music with Peter McMurray on tape and tape recording. Her 2016 article "Song, Solidarity, and the Sound Document" in the Journal of Musicology
was distinguished with the Alfred Einstein Award of the American Musicological Society for the best article by a scholar in the early stages of their career.
