Morpheus and the Dream Stone is a gripping urban fantasy, set in the grey streets of central London. It tells the story of Piotr, 12 years old, with a limp and a habit of blushing at the most irritating moments, Piotr longs for a friend. At a chance meeting with the larger-than-life magician Morpheus, Piotr touches a very special stone, and his life changes forever. Piotr begins to dream vivid dreams, in which he always seems to meet up with the same bunch of children, each dream a new adventure, each adventure more weird and wonderful than the last. Poitr's dreams intertwine with the story of a young girl, who Piotr sees begging on the streets of Lambeth. Together with his new-found friends from the dream world, and Mr Cook, his eccentric class teacher, Piotr tries to help the beggar girl. Morpheus and the Dream Stone is a fantastic urban adventure with strong characters and a page-turning plot. This book is aimed at children aged 11 upwards, although there is nothing in it that would be unsuitable for slightly younger children. There is no sex or violence in the book at all, although some of the chapters are a little dark and might be slightly scary for younger children. (One of the author's children is 13 years old, and has complained that not enough ebooks for sale on Amazon make it clear whether they have any sex or violence in them that might be unsuitable for young teens. That is why the author has added this paragraph. If you agree that this extra information is helpful, please write a review of this book and say so....your feedback is always very gratefully received......many thanks in advance).
