Epithelial neoplasms of the thymus are one of the rarest tumours in humans, with an incidence of 1-5/1,000,000 people, and are the most common type of mediastinal tumour in adults. There are currently limited treatment options for these tumours, with surgical intervention being the primary treatment. This book presents a systematic overview, beginning with basic anatomy and continuing with histopathological facts, with a focus on thymomas and thymic carcinomas. The manuscript also refers to an immunohistochemical analysis of individual tumour subtypes of this entity, which is compared with the current state of research.
