The present book discusses the Genetic divergence among 23 genotypes of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) was assessed through morphological (10 phenotypic traits), biochemical (PER, EST and SOD isoenzyems) and molecular (RAPD, ISSR and SSR) markers. Hierarchical Euclidean and Ward's cluster analysis based on 10 morphological character tics grouped all the 23 genotypes into five and two divergent clusters respectively, under the three environments investigated. A total of 10 alleles were generated by three isozymes viz., peroxidase, esterase and superoxide dismutase. RAPD, ISSR and SSR analysis showed 93.48 ,80 and 80.66 respectively per cent of polymorphism. The results of the present study could be gainfully utilized in green gram improvement programmers. The strength of the book is detailed methodology and procedure to isolate and characterized the strains at molecular level along with detailed review and literature to give a snapshot of state of art research in Marker assisted selection .
