My wife has suffered from migraines most of her life, although she has now learned what her triggers are, how to avoid those triggers and what to do to prevent a migraine attack, fairly successfully, by chewing a tablet of 1,200 to 1,600 calcium. I suffered from violent headaches for about 15 years and during that time I was convinced I was suffering from migraines, wrongly as it turned out. Some of my wife's triggers are: red wine, fatty foods, white chocolate, during those 15 years I also avoided those foods but, unlike my wife, kept having recurring headaches until one day I realized that maybe I was not suffering from migraines at all, I then started researching the causes of headaches in general and migraines in particular. This book is written because of all the research I did on headaches. Using the techniques, I show in this book I realized that I was not suffering from migraine but tension headaches. But as I was convinced they were migraines for many years I did nothing not even consulting my doctor. A migraine is a very debilitating nasty intense throbbing pain and collection of symptoms, usually on one side of the head, attacks can last from 4 to 72 hours and usually also include nausea, vomiting, visual disturbances, dizziness, sensivity to sound, light and smell. It is estimated that about 6 million people suffer from migraine in the UK and between 20 and 30 million in the USA. Many people try to treat their migraines with over the counter pain killers or medicines prescribed by their doctor. The medication does not work well enough for most people as well as having many side effects, so finding safe and natural alternatives is a good idea and that is what we try to do in this book.
