During the last few decades, the utilization ofmultilayered printed geometries has increasedsteadily, especially in the applications ofmicrostrip antennas and monolithic microwaveintegrated circuits (MMIC). Parallel to thisincrease, a significant amount of research effort hasalso been put for the development of efficientelectromagnetic simulation tools for such geometries. Compared to the well-known techniques such as thefinite-difference time-domain (FDTD) andfinite-element methods (FEM), method of moments (MoM)based approaches have proved to be very efficient forthe rigorous analysis of layered printed circuits. This book, therefore, analyzes the MoM basedelectromagnetic simulation algorithm utilizing thespatial domain Green s functions of the vector andscalar potentials. The efficient inclusion ofmultiple vertical conductors into the MoM formulationis analyzed theoretically and via examples. Theanalysis presented here should especially be helpfulto professionals in the field of MicrowaveEngineering or anyone else who may consider adaptingMoM algorithms within different computational problems.
