Heberto Salgueiro born in Cuba on the 6th day of September 1929 in a farm called "Las Mercedes," located on the road Ojos de Agua between Cortes and La Grifa, one kilometer in distance from the center of town "Cortes," municipality of Guane, Pinar del Rio. As a young child I was always very curios and try to keep up with my surroundings and the happening, one of the things I loved the most was reading all types o newspapers with at the time arrived by mail form Havana, Cuba. My interest in keeping myself up to date made me a vivid reader of newspapers such as Luz, Prensa Libre, La Marina, El Mundo, El Pais and many more that circulated around Cuba at the time. And my rejection to any type of dictatorship both to the right and the left, after a very tragic family accident which occurred at the very early state of my life took me in becoming a "Double Revolutionary," which is the main focus of all my memories and themes of this book."
