The effect of changes in microclimate produced by polyhouse, nethouse conditions on plant growth characteristics and biomass yield of Bhui Amla was studied during 8th August 2008 to 31st December 2008 in experiment conducted at Nagarjuna Medicinal Plant Garden, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. The modified quonset type shade net house structure of 17 m x 4 m covered with 50% shade net and U.V. stabalized plastic film covered polyhouse. The nethouse temperature recorded lower day temperature than the open field and polyhouse recorded higher day temperature than nethouse and open field. The relative humidity, CO2 concentration were more in polyhouse than nethouse and open field condition and light intensity was lower than nethouse and open field. The powdery mildew disease was observed at initial stage in the month of October which was controlled by spraying fungicide i.e. sulphex 0.01%. The height of plant, number of leaves and total biomass yield increased under polyhouse, nethouse conditions as compare to open field condition. The yield performance inside the polyhouse was measured 3.95 kg and 2.39 kg more than the open field condition.
