This book is intended to be a supplementary text for an undergraduate course in one variable calculus. It contains a text on rational functions integration. It is also presented a set of problems in one variable integration and study of functions. It is required for the reader to have a basic knowledge of derivation, limits, and geometry in the plane. The book also contains several apendices about the properties of some families of real functions.

Gonçalves, RuiRui Gonçalves and Luís Vieira are assistant professors in the mathematics section at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto in Portugal. Both authors have lectured courses in mathematics in the last 25 years and authored scientific papers and books.
