In just a half a minute magic had randomly and secretly gifted mortals all around the world with powers and immortality, by way of this shower. Gifting has happened every few hundred years, for thousands of years and magicals from the very first generation learned long ago that they could no longer live among mortals due to the fear and jealousy from those who were not gifted. So they created a realm apart from the home they were born into, and named it Otium. Eventually, magicals faded from mortal memory all together. But, out of this newest generation of magicals, six teenagers were given more unique and powerful gifts than any other time before. Nikolai, a warlock who helped create the magic realm, becomes angry and jealous and vows to become the most powerful warlock of all. And his sinister plan just may succeed. The story is about six teenagers Parker Chastain and his sister Lilly, Levi Eakin and his brother Raymond as well as their friends Ester Sanchez and Esperanza Garcia, who were just given their magic, along with another newly gifted boy named Evan Wagner. However, Evan has chosen to follow the ways of Nikolai and has turned to using his powers for dark purposes. After strange and unexplainable events begin to happen to each of them is when they learn that they were given their special powers. However, no newly gifted comes into their magic all at once. They have to grow into it while along the way, stumbling and dealing with powers that completely fail them, for unknown periods at a time, until their magic completely matures. The six, newly gifted teens soon learn that they will have to do battle with the elder warlock who has become a threat to both the mortal world and the magic realm, alike. But with help from two other elders, Stuart Hollingsworth and Amelia Castillo the children become the main hope for saving both worlds and become a magical force to be reckoned with.
