The Lushai community living in Chittagong Hill Tracts districts of Bangladesh have a very close contact with nature and dependent on nature surround them for their daily needs. Traditionally they have a great knowledge to utilize the plants around them. They have a unique knowledge of herbal medicine for the cure of several types of diseases. Documentation of medicinal and other uses of plants by the Lushai from Bandarban district has been conducted as a part of ethnobotanical survey through repeated field trips. It is found that the Lushai use 135 species under 61 families for the treatment of various types of diseases/illness and other purposes. Each plant species provided with Bengali, English and Tribal name, short botanical description and using information. The geography of the study area; origin, culture and customs of the tribe is discussed.
