Living with Postcards is a non-fiction book that describes the author's close relationship with old postcards, mainly fantasy ones. She has collected them since the nineteen seventies and now owns over two thousand of these charming, beautiful, historic items. She started fanatically collecting them whilst writing her thesis on Fantasy in Postcards at Art College, where she was studying for a graphic design degree. Her thesis won her a first with distinction, whereas her graphic art annoyingly gained her only a 2:2. She was asked by her art history tutor to lecture on the subject of fantasy in postcards, but as she was only twenty one at the time she did not feel ready and declined the offer. All of the cards in this book are from her own collection. A perfect present from the past.
