Population explosion is a mysterious problem especially on our plundered planet. It is estimated that there is one birth every 8 seconds and one death every 12 seconds, with a net gain of one person on earth every 24 seconds raises the fundamental question as to where from the human numbers are adding up. This aspect is explored from the Vedas and Upanishads to seek a solution to this perennial problem of 'population explosion' and prevent the total collapse of environment and ecology. Demographers cautions of world population reaching a hooping 9.7 billion by 2050 from the current world population of 7.3 billion. Human beings must live and let live as per the dictum of Vedanta thereby disappearing for centuries from the Earth to live in Urdhvalokas (higher lokas) where a day is equivalent to several hundreds of earth years before being reborn and eventually after constant pursuit attain liberation in the end.
