In the book the proceedings of the Bremen Workshop on LightScattering 2019 are printed. The meeting was held atLeibniz Institute for Materials Engineering - IWT, Bremen on March 18 + 19, 2019.
The papers collected in this volume explore the current state of light scattering byparticles as it developed in recent years. They represent a selection of the presentationsheld during the Bremen Workshop on Light Scattering 2019, which the Leibniz-Institutfür Werkstofforientierte Technologien - IWT hosted and which was organized on theUniversity of Bremen Campus in Bremen in March 2019.Over the years, this workshop became a regular institution with participants not onlyfrom Germany but also from all over the word. Actually, this year there were again 28participants from 12 different countries. During this year's workshop, various theoreticaland practical aspects of light scattering by particles very discussed. The papers collectedin this volume demonstrate the wide interdisciplinary nature of the interest in light scatteringby particles and particle aggregates.Especially various practical aspects were extensively discussed ranging from nanoparticlesembedded in solar cells, effects of anisotropy, modelling the nonlocal effect toscattering by Janus spheres and superellipsoids. The theoretical approaches used to simulate and investigate the mentioned practicalproblems include the Discrete Dipole Approximation, Discrete Sources Method, AuxiliarySources Methods, Finite Difference Time Domain, T-Matrix Method, SuperpositionT-Matrix Method, and the Generalized Multipole method.
