As a result of the interplay between internal and regional and global dynamics Mexicos economy and society have significantly changed during the last three decades and currently face important challenges. Mexican leaders have traditionally played a key role in the evolution of Mexican organizations. Thus, leaders in Mexico appear to have the responsibility of properly directing the changes that are currently required by business, and other types of, organizations. However, scholarly knowledge on leadership and entrepreneurship in Mexico is scarce. This work studies leadership motive profiles and behaviors of CEOs in Mexico and their impact on individual and organizational outcomes using McClellands leader motives and a modified version of GLOBEs leadership behaviors. It identifies, and discusses, similarities and differences between entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial CEOs. Therefore, this book contributes to increase our understanding about both leadership and entrepreneurship in Mexico and may be useful to academics and policy makers interested in improving the formulation and enactment of the incentive infrastructure that will effectively steer Mexicos economy.
