Life within a pack of 56 wild dogs. Managing the dynamics, socialisation and aggression. Training, biology and health. For 50 years I have owned or have been owned by dogs of all different breeds from Chihuahua to Great Dane, Mastiff to wild dog and currently live in a pack of 56 dogs I am a co-founder along with my wife Sally of "Le Sanctuaire de la Faune de Tanger" a wild animal sanctuary in Tangier Morocco where we daily feed, medicate, vaccinate and neuter as many dogs and cats that we can financially afford with the number of animals in access of 300 as I write either on the streets, in foster homes, with guardians and of course the pack. With having so many dogs in the past and present coupled with a degree in zoology my experience in living in a pack of mixed breed and mixed species dogs is likely second to none and probably unrivalled. The following pages are an in depth look at the morphology, physiology, health and characteristics of today's modern domesticated dog and the lesser known species of Canidae that the populace classify as village strays which are not necessarily so. I cover arguments against notable so called dog experts with more substantial scientific evidence, diseases, social systems within a pack, pack dynamics, aggression, behaviour and training advice to provide an encompassing insight to dog ownership albeit with a single pet or living with a large pack of different sub-species Canids. This paper is based entirely on the experience and knowledge gained over those many years, with reference to peer reviewed papers, scientific advice and being the "Leader of the Pack
