In behavioral neurosciences such as neurobiology and biopsychology, animal models enable investigation of brain-behavior relations, with the aim of gaining insight into human behavior and its underlying neuronal and neuroendocrinological processes. The upsurge of interest in recent years in academia, industry, and government on the effect of toxic chemicals on the nervous system is the driving force behind elucidating lead-induced encephalopathy, and further ameliorative effect by dietary supplements (docosahexaenoic acid and gamma-linolenic acid) is too evaluated. Keeping this perspective in mind and the aforementioned facts and views, the present study was planned to elucidate the lead-induced encephalopathy in Swiss albino mice as they share a high degree of homology with humans.
